Day 328: If

If you see me before I find myself,
Let me know I am still looking,
I haven’t given up on me.

Day 217: Falling

Why fear the fall?
When each step
builds you wings.

Grabbing each rung,
developing the strength
in your arms
and gave you
the power to
lift yourself up.

What’s in a drop?
When you are sure
that your legs
will absorb the impact.

Your feet slipping
impressions that
you left on
your journey.

Why fear the fall?
When falling is
only perspective.

Day 215: Where I’m Meant To Be

On rocky purchases,
with bended knees,
try to ride the
falling Earth.

Catch my breath,
only to be thrown again,
soundless strikes
of thunder before me.

Past this storm,
lies promises of
paradise found.

Peaceful moments
of life unbound,
centred in the
waves of time.

The path I walked
crumbling behind me,
the place I stand
dissolving beneath me,
the storm in its glory,
flashing before me.

I am where I
belong, when
time and story
has drawn me

Day 112: To All of You

I started this journey,
Fully convinced I was a phoney.

Trying to string words together,
In the hopes, I would soon get better.

Every day a new challenge, thought or expression,
My very own call to action.

With unwavering support, these offerings were received ,
Until I could do little but believe.

That these keystrokes were not just random thoughts,
But were a collection of life’s subplots.

And as I learn day by day,
I am a poet, as they say!

AN: SPECIAL THANKS to my best friend Wendy, who gave me the last couplet when I was stuck.

AN: A special Thank You to everyone who keeps supporting me and encouraging me as I reconnect with my hidden writer. Due to the constant encouragement and support, I feel guilty and disappointed in myself when I am about to miss a day. Soo I scramble and write, sometimes great things, other times, things I wonder what I was thinking.

But because of this process and the challenge, I am happy to announce that one of my previous poems “Spring Sunrise” was accepted to be published in the Scarbrough Art Poetry book for Spring.

Tonight is the opening reception for a month-long celebration of spring (art and poetry). Details are below.

Join us for the Opening Reception on Thursday, April 21, from 6 PM – 8 PM at the Bluffs Gallery. We will celebrate with live music, magical performances, refreshments, and mingling with Scarborough’s vibrant arts community.

Day 95: To Remind You

Believe in yourself,
And all can be accomplished.

Cherish your soul
And you can be free.

Remember your past,
And learn a lesson.

Forget your future ,
And see today’s beauty.

Hold the rain,
And let it wash away the pain.

Grab the sun,
And feel it shine brightly inside you.

Heed these words,
And let them guide you.

Say this verse,
And let it remind you.
