339/2017: Nephew

A short little acrostic
Just to say how
I remember, you thought
That I would spend the year
Hiding behind acrostics.

Please, my dear nephew,
Remember, I told you
Always try something new
So you don’t remain stagnant
And always keep learning.
Do you dare to follow my footsteps?

Seeing that it’s your birthday, and
Unconditionally, you are loved,
Kindness and compassion your best qualities,
Uncompromisingly you give and protect,
Making sure your treasure those you love
And so I end with a simple
Reminder, acrostics aren’t always an easy way out.

AN: So it is my nephew’s 21st birthday today and I am really proud of the young man that he is becoming. It has been my blessing and privileged to be a part of his life and watch him grow and I look forward to seeing him continue on in his journey.

HAPPY 21st Birthday Ajith!!!

Day 225: Night at the Movies

With great anticipation and fanfare,
a night with “Suicide Squad” I declared,
rushing to the seats only to see them filled,
“Usher, there is a person in my chair”, I shrilled.
“wrong date ma’am”, he replied with great care.

AN: Inspired (Sadly) by true events. Got tickets for VIP showing of Suicide Squad, only to realize I had got the wrong date 😦 It was sadder for my nephew and sister, who were “trusted” me with  such an important task. I think I am banned from every getting tickets again 🙂

Day 198: #teamawesome

When you mix charisma, will, and wisdom,
You end up with a very fierce threesome.

Getting lost in Toronto,
following our own tempo.

Moving to the beat of #teamawesome!

AN: A fun little limerick for a group of my friends and our joke about having our own theme song. Hope they enjoy it 🙂
