17/2017: My True Love

I have missed your warm embrace,
How far we have been apart is a disgrace,
the softness in you let me drop my head,
made me think, thankful words can be left unsaid,
Oh dear pillow, I can’t wait to kiss your face!

12/2017: Mixed Signals (Winters in Canada)

I am not sure what to do with you,
one day you are icy cold and make me blue,
other days your warm embrace teases me,
I don’t know what you are doing, so heed my plea
Dear Canadian winter, time for you to shoo.

Day 361: Boxing Day Madness

A snapchat story and filter add-on,
to make time pass on this line that keeps going on,
Size up the competition, to see who can run
because when that door opens, friend, there are none,
got to get that deal before it is gone!

Day 340: Enigma (Ajith)

Twenty wishes to manage all your contradictions,
like you winning at Risk, is still just a fiction.
Grown from golden arches to golden boy,
you are still a kid who is fun to annoy.
Don’t worry; we will let you keep your grand delusions.

AN: For my nephew, Ajith on the occasion of his 20th Birthday!

I met him when he was two, and his aunt became my sister-in-law. He was obsessed with McDonald’s as a kid, if he saw the golden arches, it was game over. So nowadays, I get my revenge on him in other ways – ways that are fun for me, as an aunt, and traumatizing for him as a teenager (not anymore I guess). Lesson here – Always be kind to your family.

It has been a real pleasure to watch him grow into a talented, sweet and smart young adult.I look forward to seeing how much further and farther he goes 🙂

Day 315: The Morning Chill Of Winter

I am too cold to care,
I miss the summer air,
Can I stay curled up in my blankets,
maniacally chomping on a box of chocolates?
Oh man, do you know what winter does to my hair?!?!

I know it is not this bad yet, but how I feel every morning. Sunshine, I miss you 😦

Day 305: Happy Halloween

Knock knock on the door,
monsters and goblins galore.
Little faces blend in night,
Oh, what a scary sight,
when that baby lion roars.

AN: I am a weird person. Hate scary movies, love Halloween. Terrified of ghosts but love the chill of the Hallows Eve. I am a conundrum, but I am also okay with that.
