Happy Victoria Day!!! . I enjoy long weekends for the time I get to reconnect with my friends and family; and of course the extra day off work to recover - though I never seem to rest that day 😋. Celebrating National poetry month. Got to share 3 of my favourite poems at the Voices in Verse event organized by the Scarborough Poetry Club.

The poem above is an excerpt from "Mother Tongue" - originally published by Obra/Artifact. I was ecstatic to have this poem chosen for publication in Obra/Artifact's Issue 5: April 2018 – Multilingual. The words in this poem mean so much to me, as they speak to being that third person, caught between two languages, two places, and two identities. Toronto is going through its 3(?) winter. Lol. So thought I would share this poems. I have been meaning to for a while. . I have gotten into Korean dramas lately and have become completely addicted. In Korean dramas, there is a common theme around confessing your love during the first snowfall. It is believed that it will make the love a success (though judging by all the drama that happens after, I may rethink that belief). I don’t know if these are real mythologies that exist in Korea, but I do like the romance (and innocence) of it.
