Day 85: Respite

I never thought that
the one
I needed sanctuary from
would also be my
Refuge.

How do I reconcile
The want in my heart
With the eyes of
The enemy before me.

In this one night
Let’s forget old wars
and seek solace
In the oblivion of
Each other’s bodies.

Give me this respite
Before dawn breaks
And we don on our armour
Of icy touches and sharp words.
Before I lose you
To the million little cuts
That loves makes.
