Day 40: The Lonely Moon

The moon looked down on the world
Filled with life in all the colours
Blues and greens of Mother Nature
Black, brown, yellow, red and white
Of all her children.

A world of laughter, love, peace
Moments of anger, sadness and war.
Souls that lit up the universe,
With the light of their will.

In her vacant space,
The moon did not see
How many of these lives
She envied looked to her.

Saw in her, romance on starry nights.
Thanked her gentle pull as the tides rolled in.
Inspired stories, songs and poems
By simply being.
Those she longed for,
Gazed at her in wonder,
For the beauty, she gave the dark.
